What touches you matters.

Most women never ask what their period products are actually made of. The packaging never tells you. The brands rarely talk about it. And yet, period care touches some of the most sensitive, absorbent skin on the human body — for around 2,400 days over a lifetime.

That's why what your pad is made of matters. Here's what we use, why, and how it's been verified.

What it actually means

100% certified organic cotton

"Organic cotton" isn't a marketing word for us. It's a regulated, certified material that meets specific global standards.

  • Grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers.
  • Processed without chlorine bleach (we use safer, oxygen-based whitening).
  • Free from synthetic fragrances, dyes, and plastic top sheets.
  • Tested for harmful substances at every stage of production.
Why it matters

Why this matters for your body

Breathability

Cotton breathes. Plastic doesn't. Conventional pads typically use a plastic top sheet that traps heat and moisture against the skin — exactly the conditions that lead to irritation, rashes, and discomfort, especially in the Gulf climate. Cotton lets air through, keeping you cooler and drier.

Softness

Cotton against skin feels like cotton against skin. Many synthetic pads use polypropylene or polyester top layers that feel scratchy or rubbery, particularly on Day 4 or 5 when skin is already sensitive.

pH skin-compatible

Lab testing confirms our pads have a neutral, skin-friendly pH (measured at 7.6, well within the international safety range of 4.0–9.0). That means they're chemically balanced for skin contact — not too acidic, not too alkaline.

Gentle on sensitive skin

Conventional pads often contain fragrances, dyes, and chemical residues from manufacturing. For women with sensitive skin, allergies, or conditions like eczema, these can trigger reactions. Organic cotton — free of fragrances, dyes, and chlorine bleach — is designed to be gentle.

No fragrance — by design

Most period products use synthetic fragrance to mask odor. The problem: fragrance ingredients are rarely disclosed, and they can disrupt the natural pH balance of the skin. Our products are 100% fragrance-free. Cleanliness shouldn't smell like flowers — it should smell like nothing.

Chlorine-free

Conventional bleaching processes can leave trace chemical residues. Our cotton is whitened using oxygen-based methods that meet international safety standards — no chlorine, no concerning byproducts.

Formaldehyde-free

Independent laboratory testing confirms our pads contain no detectable formaldehyde. This is meaningful: formaldehyde is a known irritant sometimes found in textile manufacturing, and we've designed it out of our supply chain entirely.

No fluorescent whitening agents

Many conventional pads use optical brighteners — chemical agents that make products appear whiter than they really are. Lab testing confirms our pads contain no fluorescent whitening agents. What you see is the natural color of properly processed organic cotton.

Independently tested

What testing has confirmed

Our 330mm Organic Cotton Night Pad has been independently lab-tested against international hygiene safety standards (GB 15979-2002 and GB/T 8939-2018, the same standards applied to leading global brands). Every metric passed — many by significant margins.

What was measured Standard required Our result
Absorbency ≥ 7× weight 50× its own weight
Absorption speed ≤ 60 seconds 27 seconds
Total bacterial count ≤ 200 CFU/g < 20 CFU/g (10× cleaner)
Fungal contamination ≤ 100 CFU/g < 20 CFU/g
Harmful bacteria (E. coli, Staph, Strep, Pseudomonas) None detectable None detected
Formaldehyde ≤ 75 mg/kg Not detected
Fluorescent whitening agents None None present
pH (skin compatibility) 4.0–9.0 7.6

These aren't claims. They're test results.

For the planet

Why this matters for the planet

A single conventional pad can take up to 500 years to break down. Multiply that by the average woman's lifetime use, then by the global population, and the scale of the problem becomes staggering.

Organic cotton is biodegradable. The cotton fibers break down naturally in months, not centuries. While the absorbent core and adhesive layers in any pad still take longer to decompose, choosing organic cotton meaningfully reduces the long-term environmental footprint of your period.
